Can i buy some time to pay while a creditor hac commenced with a winding up petition?

I owe a creditor some money for goods supplied to me. I have every intention to pay but just need about an extra 6 weeks. the company is not willing to wait and have commenced a winding up order on my company. can i buy my self some time to pay with this going on. or is that it ....is my company finished.
