Can I use 'blank' first-class stamps?

I have to send a package and on the USPS site they say it is going to cost 1.11 in postage. Its a flat package, so its okay for me to send it with stamps. I have stamps that are 'first class' but they dont say how much they are worth. Should I assume they are 34 cents and stick 4 of them on?
